Manual Handling Risk Assessments
In Victoria, over 40% of all workplace injuries are manual handling related. Many can be avoided. Regular risk assessments should be a cornerstone for any risk management plan.
The process of conducting a manual handling risk assessment in a workplace involves hazard identification, risk assessment, and controlling the risks. Key persons from your organisation will be involved in this process who may consist of: production managers, OH&S reps, employees, supervisors, and/or other management.
A detailed report of the findings discovered during the risk assessment process will be compiled along with the risk assessment forms completed. Recommendations will be made to control those risks identified, with the overall aim to reduce the potential for injury and assist with safer workplace setup.
